The via ferrata du Mont is a pretty horizontal tour. There are a lot of bars and it's true that we are not often on the rocks.
There is a small bémole to signal, the signalling, it is very difficult to find it.
It is under the rock called the beaume du mont. A carpark is present at the beginning and it is already about 15 to 20 min of approach walk by a small path at the beginning and then by small artisanal stairs.
The departure starts with a ladder of about 10 rungs and then with a very small rise of 1 or 2 m.
One then leaves horizontally. The first escape is located before the monkey bridge. The crossing continues then to arrive at a plank then a second monkey bridge much longer. This last monkey bridge is located just before the arrival. It is the arrival which is the most difficult with a small vertical rise slightly sloping.
One thing to say, this via is superb in terms of the panorama. The only downside is that there is a passage that will be difficult for a small person as the cable is placed a little high. In any case it is possible to do the via ferrata d'ornans and the one of Nans sous Sainte Anne in one afternoon for a experienced person.
Extension 2005: It was added a horizontal crossing very overhanging under the via ferrata. It is classified TD see ED. It's a very physical part, a very long overhang without escapes, which has caused several rescues with helicopter. The short lanyard is mandatory, (reserved for the big guys !..).
